Shifts Policy

At RICEPO, our shifts play a key role in maximizing driver’s orders/hour rate, which directly impacts hourly pay. When we have the perfect number of drivers, we are able to maximize driver pay without negatively impacting delivery times. In order to have the perfect number of drivers to maximize driver pay and customer satisfaction, we need all of our drivers to work all of the shifts they assign. The following shifts policy is our solution to ensure the highest possible hourly pay for our drivers by making it easier to accurately predict the minimum number of shifts required to provide our customers with prompt, high quality service. Abuse of the shifts will not be tolerated.

No Show

What is a No Show?

  • A driver attended less than 30% of his/her assigned shift

  • A driver unassigned a shift within 12 hours of the shift’s start time

What are the consequences of a No Show?

  • No Show 2 times: Driver will be forced to Silver Status for 4 weeks

  • No Show 3 times: Driver’s account will be suspended for 2 weeks

  • No Show 5 times: Driver’s account will be suspended for 1 year

Incomplete Shift

What is an Incomplete Shift?

  • A driver attended less than 80% of his/her assigned shift

What are the consequences of an Incomplete Shift?

  • Every 3 Incomplete shifts will be counted as one No Show

Late Drop

What is a Late Drop?

  • A driver unassigned a shift within 48 hours of the shift’s start time

    1. Unassigning the shift within 12 hours is still considered a No Show

    2. Unassigning the shift with more than 48 hours notice has no penalty

What are the consequences of a Late Drop?

  • Late Drop 3 times: Driver will be forced to Silver Status for 4 weeks

  • Late Drop 5 times: Driver’s account will be suspended for 2 weeks

  • Late Drop 7 times: Driver’s account will be suspended for 1 year

Swap Shift

You may swap shifts with a driver at any point before the beginning of shift.

  • Responsibility for the shift will be passed to the second driver when they accept the shift, and will be reflected in My Shifts

  • If the swap is successfully completed before the beginning of the shift and the new driver completes the shift, there is no negative consequence

  • Our system automatically assigns every driver a score

  • Highest scoring drivers will be granted Gold Status

  • Gold Status drivers can assign shifts 24 hours early on Thursday

  • Deliver orders as quickly as possible
